friends from an exotic and beautiful little island.
my blog is one month old!! well, almost la.. haha.. had my first entry on the 5th of may and today is the 3rd.. hehz..
anyway, finally done with our location shoots for the RSVP video today. went to their office and conducted a mock interview with their chairperson and also took a few shots of those old folks having their occasional gathering and sharing session. tmr is the recording of the VO and after tat is chiong all the way for editing. shud be able to get everything done by end of this month.. looking forward to see the final product manzz..
kinda interesting day i had, actually.
we rushed back to sch after our afternoon shoot (as mentioned earlier) cuz heard from our lecturer that some ministers from some exotic and beautiful little island floating somewhere in the indian ocean are visiting our studio. and later, i learnt that they'r from Mauritius. with a population of a little more den a million people, its surprises me that they have their own ministers and legislative councils. hmm, u mean they no longer fish and hunt for food over there?
sigh, ignorant me.
but apparently, our guests from Mauritius are delegates of their education ministry sent to check out our education system. more from wat i've heard, they are also planning to set up a similar media course over at their little isle.
and for a start, they are touring our media studio. well, for the good boy i am...ahemz *clears throat*.. i'm the only one with lanyard in the editing suites and dammit, i was asked to talk to those delegates from that little exotic isle, when they tour the suites.
well, thinking that they wud be dressed in hawaiian grass skirts and drinking pinapple juice as they come, i took it ez man.. afterall, its the same old PR shit.. wad u like abt the course.. wad did u learn so far.. sp is good, dmc is even better blah blah blah... "can one la," i thought.
but the moment i saw the Principal, yeah, the mysterious sp's principal tat usually dun anyhow appear, directors and corp comm big shots gathering outside the studio, i knew this was some big shit man.. i got worried lo.. wad the hell man... wat if i stutter and mince my words like i usually do? it will be so freaking pai seh..
soon, those delegates arrived. and i was so damn wrong. they were all dressed in smart business suits and they looked real intimidating. after visiting our shooting floor, they were led into the editing suites and there was i, flashing my mega-watt smile and said, "gd evening, sir."
i mananaged to get on my feet, surprisingly, and blurted out some crapshit that was enough to keep those delegates nodding their heads. they seem to know alot, i think.. luckily for me, my other member of the production team was there and we shared some questions together. after nodding their heads for a few more minutes, they thanked and wished us good luck and den proceeded elsewhere.
phewz.
i think i didnt stutter. i think i didnt mince on my words too.. lucky la.. first time talk to big shots.. quite an experience man.. lesson learnt: know ur stuffs well before u speak. best is rehearse a few times la.. also, not everyone from Mauritius wears hawaiian grass skirt and drinks pineapple juice, even though we cant deny that its an exotic and beautiful little island.
